Doomscrolld measures your scrolling behavior and keeps every measurement on your own device. It has no network access and makes no requests of any kind.

What we collect

Distance, host, duration.

Doomscrolld records, per browsing session:

Scroll distance and velocity

Measured in pixels, normalized by your viewport height into screens and pace.

Site hostname and page title

Used only to group your history by site. Never shown to anyone but you.

Session start, end, duration

When you arrived, when you left, how long you stayed.

Viewport height

Used to normalize scroll distance into screens you can read back.

What we do not collect

Nothing else. Literally.

No page content or screenshots.

No keystrokes, clicks, or form input.

No personal information, accounts, or identifiers.

No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.

Where your data goes

Nowhere.

All data is stored locally in your browser's extension storage using Chrome's storage.local API. Nothing is transmitted to any server, ever.

Retention

30 days of detail, then totals.

Raw session detail is kept for 30 days. After that, days are condensed into permanent day-level totals: distance, time, and session count. You can delete any single day, or your entire history, at any time from the side panel.
